Top 10 Computer Games of All Time
April 25th, 2012I've been wanting to show the world my top ten computer games list for years now but haven't really had the chance until I acquired GamesKao. VMBFZF8RUJNB
Below I'll share with you my all-time favourite video games from all consoles, in all genres and why I love them so much.
My list below should contain perhaps Halo or Gears of War but I don't own an xBox.. Would you have included them?

#0 Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers
Console: NES
Released: 1990
Genre: Platformer

Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers is a popular TV cartoon. When Capcom released the computer game it was a no-brainer for children across the world to buy it. Rescue Rangers was the first both-on-screen (co-op) 2 player me and my brother played and for that reason alone it made this list. You can help and watch each others back whilst climbing the levels and throwing boxes and weapons at the enemies.
Amazing: The soundtrack for RR is brilliant and catchy.
#10 Resident Evil
Console: PS1
Released: 1996
Genre: Survival horror

Resident Evil has a great mix of horror, puzzle, shooting, and fear of being hunted. It's probably the scariest game I've played, especially when I was young at the time of release. It has a brilliant movie intro with the sounds of undead-dogs coming towards you from the dark.
Amazing: The moment you encounter the first zombie, he turns his head slowly towards as you've disturbed him unknowingly whilst he's feasting on brains.
#9 Sonic Adventure
Console: Dreamcast
Released: 1999
Genre: Platformer

AT the time; Sonic Adventure was the fastest game I had played. The Dreamcast's 128bit speed was the best of it's time (apart from PC games). Once you mastered the controls you were able to swoosh through the loops and levels at super sonic speed
What a game!
Amazing: Sonic speeding through emerald coast whilst being chased by a killer whale crashing behind you. Also, the minigames included where as good as having a second game.
#8 Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
Console: SNES
Released: 1996
Genre: Fighting

UMK3 is considered by many (including MK designer Ed Boon) to be the best of the 2D franchise. Of course, the newer versions have better graphics etc. but for the year UMK3 was way ahead of its time and pushed the Super Nintendo to its max. I loved It because it had the most playable characters including Shao Kahn, Motaro, and Smoke from the very start. Great combos and many hilarious fatalities makes this my number 8.
Amazing: Think you're good at Mortal Kombat? Check out Dark Fulgores tool-assisted-speedrun. Note how many time he gets hit
..
#7 Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec
Console: PS2
Released: 2001
Genre: Racing

GT3 is exactly what it claims to be.. a real driving simulator! This has everything you'd want in a racing game; 2 player, mods, upgrades, 180+ cars and best of all, breath taking graphics. In 2001 when I see the in-game weather change from rain to sun and see the mirror shine on my red Mustang (only 3 gears - modded for rally
) I was hooked.
Amazing: Finally wining enough enough money and races to obtain the fastest car in game.. Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak 1000BH monster. Or the thrill of winning an F1 car and taking corners at top speed for the first time.
#6 Grand Theft Auto
Console: PS1
Released: 1997
Genre: Action

GTA has something for everyone and it's hard not to love it. Gta is a free-roaming, action packed, Highly addictive, driving - shoot'em'up. The original was known best for its birds eye view. If you had a Playstation, you had to have GTA!
Amazing: Getting a kill frenzy mission and exploding everything with the remote control cars.
#5 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Console: N64
Released: 1998
Genre: Adventure

ZOOT (Zelda Ocarina of Time) could so have easily been my all time favourite. Like a compelling novel, once I started playing, I had to finish it. The music, visuals, and mysteries in the land of Hyrule are truly awesome. To be honest I was disappointed the first few minutes of play, but once you start following Link's journey you'll be hooked.
Amazing: The moment you/Link, becomes a man and gets some real power. Great game.
#4 Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars
Console: PC
Released: 1996
Genre: Point and click

Broken sword is an adventure mystery ranked high not only by me.. but in the TOP 20 Adventure Games by AdventureGamers and #2 Retro by RetroGamer. From the start you're placed at a cafe when suddenly an explosion throws you straight in the deep end as a mysterious clown leaves the crime scene. From then you're lead on a journey of murder, mystery, mayhem, and medieval history.
Amazing: The Goat, BEWARE OF THE GOAT! Good news is you can now find this game updated for the DS and WII.
#3 Metal Gear Solid
Console: PS1
Released: 1999
Genre: Stealth

MGS was one of the games that from then on, all others had to live up to. I love Snake's story, the characters, stealth missions and the brilliant cinematic cutscenes. Everything was so well planned out and the game keeps you gripped from start to finish. Humour, fear.. MGS will play all of your emotions.
Amazing: Designer - Hideo Kojima loved messing with his fans; "frequency can be found on the back of the CD case." ARGH!
#2 Super Mario 64
Console: N64
Released: 1996
Genre: Platformer

If aliens come down to earth and demanded a great all-round game, you'd show them Mario64. In 1996 I pre-ordered my Nintendo 64 with a copy of Mario64, the total: £440 :/ that's how big this game and console was. Today that's about £800, I'd say. Anyhoo, worth every penny. At the time, the stunning 3D affects and colours of M64 were mind-blowing. You can now get M64 on the DS and it comes with hundreds of minigames.
Amazing: Finaly getting all 120 stars and meeting with your old freind, Yoshi, on the rooftop.
#1 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Console: PS3
Released: 2007
Genre: 1st Person Shooter

COD4 - Masterpiece.
The campaign mode is one of the best in gaming history. Graphics on the PS3 are truly awesome. Jumping from the helicopter in the mission "charlie don't surf" and landing on the golden sand took my breath away. I just could not fathom this was computer graphics. COD4 was the first multiplayer/online game I played on PS3. Online, it's the most exciting game I've ever played and millions of people across the world agree with me. Weapon upgrades, bonuses, team tactics, stealth, kill cams, it's got the lot!
Amazing: The campaign end scene is so powerful. Getting the golden AK47. Getting a double headshot online with a Barret 50cal - PING ping!
#BONUS Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Console: NES
Released: 1989
Genre: Platformer Action

I had to include this in the list as it was the first ever computer game I played. I was about 3-4 years old and I remember my brother was playing TMNT on his NES. I didn't quite understand how he was playing it but he gave me the controller and was showing me what buttons to push. So I'd stare at the controller, push the buttons not realising that was making the Turtles move on-screen lol. Anyhow I got the hang of it and never looked back.
Amazing: I can still remember the heart pounding sound of the sea/dam level when you're trying to defuse the bombs :/ Probably the most nerve wrecking level in gaming history. We never did complete the game; The last level was the airport, right? Funnily enough, I played it a few months back with a cocky attitude and it was JUST as hard as the first time I played it.
So that's my Top 10 Computer Games of All Time updated for 2012. Please like and share this post for the gaming community and most important.. Comment below with your top 10.
